| Our belief in peace and justice for all, be that
for humans, animals or the environment, has a strong resonance with the
central and compassionate nature of Tibetan Buddhism.
Our initial interest in Tibet was awakened by our outrage at the appalling abuse of human rights that has plagued Tibet since the Chinese invasion of 1950. Then when you learn more about Tibet’s history and it's traditions, the haunting and mystical beauty of the country and the central role of its Buddhist culture; The occupation and degradation of Tibet seems even more pronounced. In our working life we have been running ethical WARES, a vegan mail order company since 1993. So with our concern and interest in Tibet having grown over the years, we wanted to make a contribution. The Tibet Site then is our attempt, in a very small way, to help publicize this huge injustice, and to show our support for the Tibetan people and indeed for all the oppressed of the planet.
